Tulane University Athletics Don & Lora Peters Academic Suite

The Wilson Center for Intercollegiate Athletics, named for former Tulane football player Jim Wilson Jr. and originally completed in 1980, has been described as one of the finest athletic buildings in the country. The XGD Studio at DLR Group was tasked with implementing mainly non-sport-specific graphics and installations in the renovated space to highlight student athletes and their academic achievements. Upon entry, visitors are immediately presented with a large-scale wood and glass feature moment that highlights the name and donors of the academic center. This is then carried throughout the space including a large illuminated Tulane wordmark and an illuminated Angry Wave logo that fill the open study space with branded elements that can also serve as backdrops for photo opportunities and social media share.
